Job Title: Forestry Supply Chain Officer Location: Türkiye, preferably Ankara, but this appointment can be home-based on those days when not attending meetings or field visits. Duration of contract: a two-year Service and License agreement, with the potential for extension based on performance
Starting date: As soon as possible Travel: Frequent national travel and occasional international travel is required

DRS (DevelopmentAid Recruitment Solutions) is looking for a Forestry Supply Chain Officer for INGO who will formally represent INGO in Türkiye and lead activities and projects in close cooperation with relevant local stakeholders from the forestry sector, public, private, NGO sector, the INGO membership. The Forestry Supply Chain Officer will be responsible for all forest supply chain-related issues and will act as a link between the Turkish Stakeholders, National Representation Türkiye, and INGO International.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Be the local technical expert on the relevant ‘INGO methods and standards.’
  • Be the point of contact for and provide technical guidance and training to certificate holders and entities seeking relevant ‘INGO methods and standards.
  • Develop the Supply Chain Management Strategy for Türkiye.
  • Develop EUDR conformity and support strategy for Türkiye.
  • Engage and network with relevant stakeholders such as CoC Certificate Holders, Certification Bodies, industry associations, and relevant government bodies for the improved implementation of relevant ‘INGO methods and standards.
  • Oversee the integrity of ‘INGO methods and standards and increase the capacity of CBs where necessary.
  • Engage in the development and revision of ‘INGO methods and standards’, ensuring that Turkish stakeholders are involved at the appropriate times.
  • Assess the impact of INGO on the supply chain in Türkiye and communicate this to target audiences.
  • Develop a database of and relationship with the relevant entities and experts.
  • Coordinate with the Policy and Standard Unit and other relevant units at INGO International and support the development of any relevant documents and implementations for Türkiye.
  • Represent and support organizing INGO in relevant conferences and meetings.
  • Attend and represent Türkiye in INGO International forums, including the Supply Chain Community, EUDR community, annual staff meeting, sub-regional meetings, webinars, etc.
  • Any other tasks as agreed with the National Representative

Supporting Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support country office on membership development.
  • Support the country office in the development of ecosystem services.
  • Support country offices in expanding and developing new strategic value chains (such as textile).

Qualification, Experience, and Skills Education and Training:

  • University degree in forestry, supply chain management, or an equivalent combination of education/vocational training and work experience relevant to the roles and responsibilities of this function.

Working Experience, Style and Skills:

  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Sound understanding of the scope of INGO’s programs and activities, policies, and standards.
  • A practical understanding of EUDR and the effects of the Turkish forestry supply chain.
  • Understanding of commercial forest product value chain needs and market forces.
  • Good time management skills: the ability to perform well while handling simultaneously several functions.
  • Ability to work independently and to achieve agreed objectives with little supervision.
  • Service-oriented attitude to work, as well as a strong sense of diligence and accuracy.

Digital Skills – good skills in the use of/experience with:

  • Good skills in the use of standard software packages (MS Office).
  • Adaptive to use and discover new technological solutions.
